Nematodirus Warnings 2015 FINAL UPDATE 2015

22nd May 2015

The peak risk in England and Wales is now over for 2015, while the North and West of Scotland together with Northern Ireland will remain on high alert (red) for another 3-4 weeks.

Remember that  north facing fields and those at higher altitudes will be a little behind these predictions because they are cooler. For every 100m above seas level hatching is delayed by about 1 week, so take this into consideration when assessing your risk. See the pdf attached for a check list of risk factors.

This is the final warning for 2015 and SCOPS is very grateful for the continued support of Bristol University. The warnings were based on soil temperatures and reports from around the country and will give you a county based forecast together with more information on how to interpret this for your farm.
