SCOPS representatives invited to speak at VMD online symposium

19th July 2023

The Antiparasitic Resistance Research Symposium being ran by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) in August will feature two SCOPS Steering Group members - independent sheep consultant Lesley Stubbings and Moredun Principle Scientist Dave Bartley - as well as SCOPS supporters, Eric Morgan of Queen's University Belfast, who was instrumental in the creation of the SCOPS Nematodirus Forecast, and Moredun's Stewart Burgess, who SCOPS worked closely with on the For Flock's Sake sheep scab project.

The all-day webinar on Wednesday 9th August, chaired by Claire Stratford of VMD, another SCOPS Steering Group member, will provide industry updates and consider the impact of VMD-funded anthelmintic resistance projects at farm level. It will focus on anthelmintic resistance in the morning and sheep scab in the afternoon. Attendance is free and open to all, although the content is likely to be most suitable for vets, advisers and researchers. The deadline for registration is Monday 7th August at 5pm.
