SCOPS and COWS discuss antiparasiticides and the environment

5th September 2023

Today (Tuesday 5th September 2023), representatives from the Sustainable Control of Parasites in Sheep (SCOPS) and Control of Worms Sustainably (COWS) groups met to talk about increasing awareness of the impact the use of antiparasiticides in cattle and sheep can have on the wider environment. The discussion focused on how reducing the use of antiparasiticides is not only important to slow the development of resistance to these important treatments, but also to minimise the environmental impact.

SCOPS and COWS already have information available on this topic, but the meeting identified ways to further develop and promote this.
