Nematodirus Warning

4th April 2012

Sheep farmers need to be on their guard against Nematodirus outbreaks over the coming weeks as AHVLA reports an outbreak this week in Wales. While the warm weather in March lead to an early hatch in some areas at a time when susceptible lambs were not at pasture, the current cold snap could mean a sudden hatch of Nematodirus larvae when it turns warm again. Click on the pdf for more information about the disease and the risk factors involved.
